Staying at a hotel can be a wonderful experience, whether you are traveling for business or pleasure. However, it's important to remember that staying at a hotel requires a certain amount of preparation and awareness. Here are some tips to help ensure a great hotel stay: We always do research in advance to ensure it meets our families needs for a great vacation that doesn't make us coming home wishing we never left.

1. Research the hotel beforehand: Before booking your stay, do some research on the hotel you are considering. Look at reviews from previous customers to get an idea of the quality of service offered by the hotel. Check the location, amenities, and services offered.

2. Book in advance: It's always best to book your hotel well in advance as this not only guarantees your stay, but also gives you a chance to choose the room type and location that you prefer. Some cities have local festivals and events that cause areas to be fully booked months in advance.

3. Arrive early: If possible, try to arrive at your hotel early. This will give you enough time to settle in and explore your surroundings. Most hotels have a check-in time between 2 pm and 4 pm, so it's best to arrive a few hours before that. WE check to see if there are early check ins available. Often a cleaning schedule can be arranged to accommodate and early check in, if you require an early arrival. Or the hotel can hold your luggage at the front desk and transfer it to your suite or room wake you and our family dine or visit a tourist attraction. A great way to start your vacation early instead of waiting for your lodging to be available.

4. Be polite to the staff: Always remember to be polite and respectful to the hotel staff. These people are there to help you and they can make your stay more enjoyable if you treat them with kindness and respect. I always chat with them and make jokes to help them feel more appreciated. Kids thanking them for help and saying hi every morning usually brightens their day.

5. Know your amenities: Take advantage of the amenities offered by your hotel, such as the pool, restaurant, gym, or spa. These amenities are often included in your stay and can add significant value to your experience. we love using the hotel pool and spa!

6. Keep your room clean: Make sure to keep your hotel room clean and tidy. This will not only make your stay more comfortable but also help the hotel staff keep the room clean for future guests. We ask for a room refresh and we hang towels to dry so we can help reduce water consumption and be eco friendly.

7. Be mindful of noise: Remember that you are staying in a hotel with other guests, so be mindful of noise levels. Keep your voice and music volume low, especially in common areas. Especially if you are up higher than some other levels your footsteps and furniture moving can be very noisy to guest below.

Staying at a hotel can be a wonderful and comfortable experience. With a little preparation and awareness, you can ensure a great stay and create wonderful memories that you will cherish for years to come.
