I love travelling, and as a family of 5 I have a healthy fixation with trying to save money every time we take flight.

Let's talk about seasons.

Generally speaking, July and August are the most expensive times to travel. If you travel in the spring (April / May) or autumn (September / October) flights tend to be much cheaper due to supply and demand.

The time of day can also make a difference: flying overnight usually has lower fares since that departure time is much less desirable compared to a flight that takes off at 10am.

Frequent flyer programs often allow you to buy miles at a significant discount or bonus compared to the usual rates, and these promotions can be leveraged to unlock some pretty big savings on premium class travel.

Don’t forget to check for deals and discounts on the specific airline you’re booking with. With Air Canada alone, for example, there are a handful of discounts that usually come around once or twice a year.

Find flights the airlines don’t want you to see. By exposing loopholes in airfare pricing to save you money.

Through a site like Skiplagged. Finds the best rates on hotels and airfare.

They also help you with whats called “skiplagged rate” and will save you up to 50% on certain hotels.

These are my top tips over the years learned by expereince on saving and maximizing my travel time.
