Welcome to the “City Beautiful” with lush green avenues winding through residential houses, historic landmarks, stunning public art, integral businesses, and world-class dining. Dubbed "The City Beautiful," Coral Gables is known for its tree-lined boulevards, ivy-covered mansions and historical landmarks such as the world-famous Biltmore Hotel and the Venetian Pool, both built in the 1920s.

Things to do:
Like many South Florida neighborhoods in the vicinity of Miami, Coral Gables has the reputation as a destination for those looking to experience the finer things in life.
Not just a retail therapy escape, the shops at Merrick Park include a fitness center and a variety of dining establishments. Its a must visit place and so fun to window shop and pick up souvenirs. In the 1940s, after the lackluster years of the Great Depression and World War II, a handful of developers and businesses invested in and rebranded the area, and in 1955, as a result of their efforts, the four-block strip of Coral Way was officially renamed “Miracle Mile.”

The Coral Gables museum is a beautiful place rich with history.
The grounds are expansive, and guided tour options are available on foot, by bike, and even by canoe. Housed in the city’s old police and fire station building, Coral Gables Museum is located downtown and includes thousands of square feet of indoor and outdoor space.

Great downtown to walk around and visit some of the many great restaurants and beautiful architecture. Suggest edits to improve what we show. Explore different ways to experience this place.
Some history of this beautiful city, Made of native coral rock quarried from what would later become Venetian Pool, the addition was designed by Althea and adapted features of New England-style homes to the South Florida environment. The Merrick family named their new home “Coral Gables,” and their growing grapefruit groves the “Coral Gables Plantation.”

Coral Gables is known for its understated elegance, it appeals to families and to those who value local arts and culture, with a curated community feel. I personally love visiting this city and of course getting a little culture and shopping under my belt.
